This 7,000-acre preserve contains miles of trails used by hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians, all converging on a 500-foot summit with views of the southern coast and White Mountains. For a 1.5-mile loop that the kids will enjoy, take the Summit Trail to Ring Trail to Witch Hazel to Vulture View and back to Ring. Elevation change is minimal, but there are plenty of views. To get there, follow the signs off U.S. Route 1.
