This mountain is close to the major tourist areas of southern Maine, so if someone were to tire of shopping in Kennebunkport, they could get here easily instead. Pleasant Mountain is 2,006 feet high and doubles as a ski area. There are several trails; the most popular is the Firewarden's Trail, which climbs to the main summit from the west for a five-mile round-trip hike. To find it, turn south onto Warren Road, which is about two and a half miles west of the ski area access road. Stay right at all road junctions. The trailhead is about 1.2 miles down. The trail follows a truck road, then an old jeep road to the summit ridge.
