Skiied Saddleback over vacation week after hearing about it from a friend that just bought real estate up there. What a place! I read about it in the Boston Globe in the late fall and figured I would check it out sometime this season. I was surprised with the size since I hadn't heard as much about it as I had with the other 2 big mountains in Maine. It's a big mountain that even has snowfields and some serious terrain. My kids loved it as well. I'll definately be back soon!

We visited Rangeley during the end of school vacation week. Saddleback Mountain is one of the state's best values for skiing. On Thursday, February 21 it was cold and windy and you needed to dress in layers. The conditions were excellent and with virtually no lift lines you could get in a lot of runs quickly and take a "warm-up" break. Friday was still cold but the winds had diminished. It started to snow around noontime making the visibility nil but having skiied the day before I was ready to call it an early day around 3:30.

Partly sunny sky. Sparkly, untouched corduroy. The right amount of cold. Our dream ski day appeared on February 9 at Saddleback. Warmed up on some green trails, then headed up. The white forest at the summit and the icy lake below screamed, "Photo opp!" Felt a bit out of control on the ride down, so I took a private lesson to help me ski better on steep trails. Learned some new skills and ditched bad habits while my boyfriend cruised tougher terrain. Made it down a few blue trails, practicing my new improved form and left wanting more snow, a longer winter and mostly one more ride!

I skied with friends and family at Saddleback on Sunday February 18th. The snow conditions were excellent with only very minor ice issues at the end of the day near the top of the mountain. We found excellent trail conditions all across the mountain and especially on the mogul trails which still had plenty of powder to soften the blows. Thanks Saddleback for having an affordable lift ticket that allows us to enjoy this wonderful sport!!

I Was up in the Rangely area this past weekend. I was crashing at a buddy's who is a groomer at Saddleback. He is designer and builder of the snowboarder park. At this very minute he is working on the halfpipe, and at this time they have more rails to jib than Sugarloaf. They even have a rail that slides over a boat. They too like Sugarloaf have been getting bursts of new snow, so when you look outside the window here mid-coast or south of Freeport remember that it is snowing somwhere. Ride/Ski it while you can! I am also buddy of a Patrol dude here. He says ski/ride in control. He dosent want to see anyone get hurt.

Wew.. What a bitter one! My buddy and I have been on a ski adventure. Well we don't ski, but I still say it sometimes. We both ride Burton snowboards. Another day of Fresh Cord. Fresh COLD Cord. Hardly any one at Saddleback. Nice pllace, but definatley the longest drive from where we are on the coast. Being in the area because of yesterdays Sugarloaf success, we found ourselves here. Both of us not familiar with the mtn, we went to explore. We found the lifts slower then most place we ride, and a tee bar to summit. But there was somthing about it was warm on this below freezing day. It had almost a Vermonter character. Do what you want. just don't kill yourselve doin it. We were super tired, made 10 or so runs and hit the road. There is Sugarloaf and Sunday River, but Saddleback is not to be rekoned with. We did find it hard to believe that they plan on expanding so much, with so little customer base

Amother perfect day at Saddleback! Monday the snow was falling, and the skiing was perfect. Trails to ride this weekend--The Coachman, Green Weaver, and the Devils were in great shape. The guns were blowing today--the weekend looks great!

Hit the slopes early the morning of the 12th. We were a little worried about the conditions at first, but those concerns were laid to rest as soon as we got off the lift. The snow was great--best runs of the day were down Coachman and Green Weaver. We ran Green Weaver several times--the snow was perfect. Awesome skiing--great food--wonderful people is what makes Saddleback. The view from the top of the mountain was spectacular--endless. The lift operators know you by your second run and are all friendly and helpful! I love this mountain!

We went to Saddleback on opening day 12/15. It was only four degrees but we managed to stay warm enough!
There is still a lot of terrain to be opened but we found some great blue cruisers that we just stayed on all day. The conditions were good and there was enough of a crowd to make it fun but not so much we had to wait much in lift lines, perfect, right??
Plus they were getting absolutely dumped on Sunday. They were expected 1 1/2 - 2 feet of snow by the time all was said and done.
Listened to a fun band in the pub Saturday for apres ski, what a great time we had!!
Saddleback has done some amazing things these last few years, check it out!
