Warren Miller's Impact
Is it actually possible to start the ski season without taking in a heart-pounding Warren Miller ski film? I don't think so!
Miller's latest film--Impact--is another classic. I watched the trailer and now I can't wait for more. It's got skiing and riding's hottest stars tackling impossibly steep slopes of beautiful, untouched powder in exotic locations around the globe, all set to adrenalin-pumping music. It'll leave you screaming for the white stuff!
Impact is coming to Portland to the Merrill Auditorium on Sunday, November 7th. Don't miss it!
What a surprise to see your report about Warren Miller's new film. I immediately flashed back to the 50's.
My grandfather, Erwin Jesse Ward, was a life-long skier who gave me my first skis for my 8th birthday. In addition to teaching me to downhill ski, he also introduced me to the wonder of Warren Miller's films.
A high point of each ski season in the mid-50's was going with Grandpa to the showing of the new silent skiing film, narrated live by the filmmaker himself, standing at a podium to the right of the screen. It was a unique combination of film and theatre.
Thanks for the memories!
