About the trails
Hours: 9 a.m.to 4 p.m.
Rates: adults, $8; juniors 9-17, $4; 8 and under, free
How to get there: Take Exit 11-Gray on the Maine Turnpike. From the tollbooth, turn right. Stay in the right lane to Gray center. At the first light, go straight onto Route 115. Go east on Route 115 for 1.6 miles and turn left onto Depot Road. At the end of Depot Road, turn left at the stop sign, then left again onto Morse Road. The Visitors Center is the first building on the right and the ski shop is on the bottom floor.

Go to Cumberland Center (5.0 miles from 4 way) and take right onto Tuttle Rd. Twin Book Recreational Area is on left (1.8 miles)

How to get there: Take Exit 157 on I-95. (Newport) At the top of the off ramp, turn left into town. At the lights, take a left onto Route 2 (West). Lang Hill Road is approximately three miles on your right. There are signs along the way. The trails are at the top of the hill, part of the Palmyra Golf & RV Resort Complex.

Grounds open seven days a week, dawn to dusk. Viles Visitor Center open weekdays, 7-4. The Arboretum is located on 224 acres of public land directly across the Kennebec River from the Capitol Building. The 3.5 mi. trail system is open year-round for hiking, jogging, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, mountain biking and horseback riding. Picnicking (litter-free) and pets (on leashes less than 15' long) are permitted.
